Day 3: It’s All in the Family

Activity 1: The More, the Merrier?

I would not like it because everyone would rush to the table and it would be first in first served but by the time you get there might by no more for you.

  1. Good work Nick, you would definitely need to be able to eat quickly if there was that many people around the table. I know that when I eat Fish and Chips as a family I always hit the chips first and save my fish and hot dog until I have eaten enough chips. Would there be any advantages to a big family for example I imagine the backyard cricket would be more fun?

  3. Kia Ora Nick,

I’m Dani, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. I normally comment on blogs in the Kaikohekohe cluster ( Northland) but I have been lucky enough to get the chance to visit some blogs in the Uru Manuka cluster!

You make a great point! Imagine if you were the youngest, all of your older siblings might push in front of you and get all the food. But I’m sure it would be great to always have someone to play or talk too! When I still lived at home, I lived with my sister and younger half brother. I remember we would all go crazy when mum made Mac’n’cheese with lots of bacon. She would always make a HUGE pot of it so we would never fight over having seconds or thirds or even fourths! Have you got a favourite dinner that you enjoy having with your whanau?

    Keep up the great work!

    -Dani
